The reference book offers the reader the possibility of informing itself fast and purposefully about the diagnostic possibilities, which the ultrasonic investigation of the supporting and movement apparatus offers. A clinical and practice-oriented discussion of the presented cutting planes takes place with regard to the therapeutic application of shock wave therapy (ESWT and RSWT) for selected diseases of the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. The author, Prof. Dr. Matthias Beck, a renowned expert in the field of sonography and shock waves, received his doctorate in anatomy from the Moscow State University in 2003 and has been head of the Transfer Institute for Clinical Anatomy at Steinbeis University Berlin (SHB) since 2005.
