Reporting and Tracking
Assess Balance emphasizes the crucial capability of tracking and reporting test results. Every time an individual undergoes testing, their results are stored for comparison with previous assessments. A comprehensive report, both concise and detailed, is readily accessible for sharing with the individual, their family, and healthcare providers. These reports can also serve billing purposes and, if necessary, validation for personal injury claims. All reports are stored locally on the computer and can optionally be backed up on local or cloud-based servers.

Fall Risk Assessment
The BTrackS Balance Test objectively measures postural sway, a critical factor in assessing fall risk among older adults. Each year in the United States, millions of older adults experience falls, making it a significant public health concern. The BTrackS Fall Risk Assessment (FRA) categorizes individuals into Low, Moderate, or High fall risk categories. This assessment is specifically recommended for adults aged 60 and above.
A Low Fall Risk Assessment is indicated when the BTrackS Balance Test (BBT) is less than one standard deviation above the average, shown in GREEN on the tables. A Moderate Fall Risk Assessment applies when the BBT is between one and two standard deviations above the average, represented in YELLOW. A High Fall Risk Assessment is given when the BBT exceeds two standard deviations above the average, marked in RED. These assessments align with population statistics indicating approximately 25% of individuals aged 65 have a high fall risk, increasing to about 50% among those aged 80 and above.
Single Leg Stance Test: This test evaluates an individual's postural sway while standing on their left and right feet. It compares the sway between both sides and calculates a Symmetry Index. Symmetry is considered optimal if there is less than a 15% difference in sway between the left and right sides.
Custom Design: allows for creating a specialized testing protocol to evaluate postural sway under specific conditions. Users can design tests that incorporate cognitive tasks, various head movements, or use noise-canceling headphones, tailored to their practice needs. Each custom test can consist of up to 12 trials, with each trial lasting up to five minutes, providing detailed metrics for analysis.
Balance and Fall Risk Assessment – The BTrackS Balance Test (BBT) provides a comprehensive assessment of balance by meticulously analyzing postural sway. It calculates the centimeters of sway after each trial and benchmarks these measurements against a robust database of over 20,000 norms to determine percentile rankings. In addition to this detailed analysis, the BBT categorizes individuals into Low, Moderate, or High fall risk groups based on their test results. This thorough evaluation helps healthcare professionals accurately gauge and manage patient fall risk.
Weight Distribution – Precisely measures weight distribution percentages in both left/right and front/back directions, and identifies the body center of pressure in relation to overall postural alignment.
CTSIB – The Clinical Test of Sensory Integration and Balance evaluates the functionality of the three main sensory feedback systems (proprioception, vision, vestibular) in balance control. Normative data integrates percentile rankings across four trials.
Limits of Stability – Assess the functional base of support by having patients stand on a plate with feet flat, leaning in all directions to measure real-time total and quadrant-specific area.
Cervical Challenge – Evaluate postural sway across 11 head positions to expose various vestibular configurations, providing interpretable data for trained neurologists.
