Therabath Pro Paraffin Wax Bath

The Therabath Professional Paraffin Bath is USA made to Class II medical device standards. Therabath units are hand-assembled ensuring that each and every one leaves the factory durable, safe, and reliable.

For Hands, Feet, Face and Body since 1962
For over 90 years paraffin moist heat therapy has been used to relieve pain, inflammation and stiffness caused by arthritis. A form of thermotherapy, paraffin treatments effectively increase blood flow to aid in rehabilitation, or to warm an area of the body prior to other therapies or exercise.

Warm paraffin is also used extensively to soften dry, cracked skin by drawing moisture from within the body to the surface. Hands, feet, face or elbows are left feeling soft and appearing more youthful looking.

Always Safe Temperature Range:

The Therabath Paraffin runs in an “always safe” temperature range and is designed to maintain the desirable therapeutic temperature range of 126° to 134° F (52.2º–56.7º Celsius). Two internal thermostats ensure that the user will never immerse into wax that is too hot. In addition, the unit safely runs 24 hours per day (we say it’s safer than your refrigerator!) so that it is ready to combat pain when the user is!

FAQ
How often should I use the my wax bath?
The drug-free nature of paraffin wax ensures there are no worries about overuse. You can apply it as frequently as needed to alleviate pain or moisturize the skin. Many individuals discover that paraffin treatments are particularly beneficial in the morning to loosen up their hands for daily activities and in the evening to ease pain before bedtime.
What is the Therabath warranty?
The warranty for the Therabath Professional Paraffin Bath is limited to its standard life of 5 years. WR Medical Electronics Company guarantees that the product will be free from manufacturer defects under regular use and service for the entire duration of the natural life of the product (5 years), solely for the original consumer owner.
Does insurance cover the paraffin treatments?
Private Insurance may cover doctor-prescribed paraffin treatments. To find out the specifics, kindly inquire with your insurance company (Please note that Remington Medical does not handle insurance requests or reimbursements).
How do I know whether I should use Paraffin Therapy?
Before using this device for thermotherapy, like any medical treatment, it is essential to consult a physician or physical therapist if you have specific questions. They can help determine if thermotherapy is suitable for your individual needs. Additionally, please refer to the Therabath product manual for contraindications, available in the documents tab above. Paraffin therapy is often used to relieve pain, improve joint flexibility, and moisturize the skin. It can be beneficial for conditions such as arthritis, muscle or joint pain.
Is this paraffin bath only for professional use?
Initially intended for portability to serve patients receiving treatments in physical therapy or doctor’s offices, the Therabath can also be utilized outside of a professional clinic setting.
Can I reuse the paraffin wax?
We advise against reusing paraffin that has been removed from the skin. Once used, the paraffin contains sweat, dry skin, and other residues from the skin’s surface. This can lead to sediment formation at the bottom of the unit over time, necessitating more frequent cleanings of the bath.
How can I make the paraffin melt faster?
Place the grille on top of the un-melted paraffin before melting it. Keep the lid on during the melting process to enclose the heat and prevent cooling drafts. If the paraffin hasn’t completely melted after about 6 hours, use a mitt/boot liner bag to press down firmly and carefully on the solid chunk(s) of wax, pushing them against the bottom of the unit where the heating element is located.
How long will 6 pounds (2.72 kg) of paraffin last?
Approximately 40 sets of hands or 30 sets of feet (dipped three times each) can be accommodated with six pounds of paraffin. Ensure to maintain the paraffin level in the tank between the 6-9lb lines.
Why does the green (red for 220V units) light go on and off?
The Therabath unit cycles on approximately 8-10 times per hour for a short period of time each cycle. This is normal operation and does not indicate that the unit is not working properly. If the wax, after 8-10 hours, is not completely melted then this may indicate a problem with your unit. The light does not indicate it is “ready”, it just indicates it is heating.
How much power or wattage does the Therabath use?
People often worry about the impact on their electric bill when leaving the Therabath plugged in continuously. However, rest assured that the Therabath TB6’s power consumption is approximately 0.03 kWh/hr. To put this in perspective, it’s comparable to a portable fan’s energy usage (less than a ceiling fan, which is around 0.075 kWh/hr) or equivalent to a single use of a toaster. So, running the Therabath for an hour consumes energy similar to using a toaster once.
Why does the Therabath have a grille?
The grille mainly hides particles that may collect on the bottom. It also keeps the user’s hand or foot from touching the bottom of the tank where the heating element is.
What size is the Therabath?
The inside dimensions are 12.9″ L x 6.75″ W x 5″ D (32.8 x 17.2 x 12.7 cm). The outside dimensions are 14.25″ L x 8.5″ W x 7.75″ D (36.2 x 21.6 x 19.7 cm).
